StVincent’s Hospice, in Howwood, is launching a brand new fundraising event to help kick start the summer.

The Loch Lomond Hike and Bike Challenge is set for Saturday, May 26, and is for fitness fanatics and keen fundraisers alike.

The Challenge begins with a 7.5 mile run along the West Highland Way to Inversnaid, followed by a 34-mile cycle back via the quiet roads to Rowardennan, with all proceeds going towards supporting the hospice.

For 30 years, the hospice has been a specialist provider of end of life and hospice care for people and families impacted by life limiting conditions.

Senior fundraiser CarolAnne Lamont, said: “The Hike and Bike Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to drive yourself to do something extraordinary and raise money for charity.

“The route will take you along some of the most beautiful scenery our country has to offer, taking a run - or walk - along the shores of Loch Lomond and the West Highland Way before heading back on your bike via Aberfoyle and Drymen.

“Th i s is an ideal opportunity for any fitness enthusiast, but equally if you are looking to try something new, you can do this at your own pace and even team up with a friend for the cycling portion as a relay.

“We are only able to offer the support we do for the community thanks to the generosity of our supporters, so please, make 2018 the year you do something really special.

“Sign up for our Bike and Hike Challenge, and put yourself to the test.”
