Thug is back in the dock

Paisley Daily Express - - Lost The Plot When Wife Asked Him For A Divorce -

A man who armed himself with a weapon in a pub and threatened violence in the street has been given extra time to carry out unpaid work.

Thomas Mowles, of Craighead Way, in Barrhead equipped himself with a screwdriver at Rumours Bar, in Cross Arthurlie Street, on May 21, 2016.

Mowles who made derogatory remarks and threatened violence, pleaded guilty to two charges last March.

He was placed on a yearlong Community Payback Order (CPO), requiring him to carry out 240 hours’ unpaid work.

But he did not complete the hours in time as he was jailed for another matter.

He was back in the dock in connection with the case at Paisley Sheriff Court yesterday.

Mowles was given another four months in which to complete the unpaid work.

Sheriff Seith Ireland said: “I’m going to give you an opportunity to do it, you seem willing to do it.”

But he warned Mowles, 25, he could still be jailed for the offences if he breaches the CPO.
