Cash aid for groups aiding women and kids
Groups in Renfrewshire that work to help children and women in need could be eligible for a huge cash boost.
Grants of up to £30,000 are now available from the Volant Charitable Trust.
The trust was set up by J K Rowling in 2000 to administer grants to registered charities across the UK.
In 2016, the Trust narrowed its focus to charitable organisations operating in and for the benefit of those living in Scotland.
The funding aims to support women, children and young people who are facing social deprivation.
The funding can be used for one-off projects or multi-year applications, of up to £10,000 each year for three years.
Registered charities, community interest companies, community organisations and social enterprises can apply.
To be eligible, applicants must be constituted and have a bank account in the name of the group with at least two unrelated signatories.
The must also have at least three unrelated members on their management committee and host committee meetings with a quorum of at least three unrelated members present. The deadline for applications is April 30. For more information, or to apply to the Volant Charitable Trust, grant visit www. foundationscotland.org.uk/programmes/ volant/
