MSP joins spring clean

Paisley Daily Express - - Get Set For First Round Of Brilliant Beer Festival -

Derek Mackay MSP is encouraging people to get involved in Renfrewshire’s Big Spring Clean this weekend.

The events are being hosted as part of Renfrewshire Council’s Team Up to Clean Up campaign and will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday across the district.

Since the campaign was launched last November, more than 50 community clean ups have taken place with the SNP MSP pitching in and taking part.

The Renfrewshire North and West MSP will be out and about this weekend helping with the clean ups in his constituency and is encouraging others to get involved if they can.

He said: “I’ve seen how much of a difference these community clean ups can make. It is incredible how much rubbish and littler can be collected in less than an hour, helping to clean up the local area and keep it tidy.

“I will be out again this weekend helping clean ups in my constituency, and I would encourage anyone who wants to get involved in their own community to come along.”
