Celebrating a decade of teaching keep fit
One Linwood woman has been given 10 out of 10 for effort, after running fitness classes for a decade.
Lesley Cochrane has been teaching Body Attack, Body Pump and Body Combat for 10 years in the town.
Lesley, 42, said:“I can hardly believe it’s been a decade since I took my first Body Attack class, in the old Linwood Sports Centre.
“We’ve had some great times at the classes over the years.
“I do all the exercises along with the class and it is such a hard physical workout.
“When I first started, I thought I wouldn’t last another 10 classes, never mind 10 years of them.”
Some of the women who attended Lesley’s very first session still train under her wing to this day.
Hazel Black, from Houston, told the Express: “Going to Lesley’s classes has been really enjoyable and I’ve made some good friends there.
“It’s exercise and fun at the same time.”
Kam Bamrah, also from Houston, added:“We know we’ll always get a good workout with Lesley.
“I’ve been coming for such a long time because I really enjoy her classes.”
Renfrewshire Leisure chief executive, Joyce McKellar said: “Our aim is to make keeping fit as interesting and enjoyable as possible.
“With instructors like Lesley working for us and the fact people have been coming to the classes for 10 years, shows that we’re doing exactly that.”
