Britain call-ups for Clan ice aces

Brae­head Clan stars Bren­dan Brooks and Zach Sul­li­van have both been named in the Great Britain squad for next week’s Euro­pean Cham­pi­onships in Hun­gary.

The 23-man squad was se­lected by head coach Pete Rus­sell, who was ap­pointed new Clan head coach less than a fort­night ago. GB will face hosts Hun­gary, as well as Italy, Kaza­khstan, Poland and Slove­nia, from April 22 to 28.

The six-team Divi­sion 1 Group A tour­na­ment will take place at the Papp Las­zlo Bu­dapest Sportarena, as GB re­turn to world ice hockey’s sec­ond tier for the first time since 2013 fol­low­ing their pro­mo­tion in Belfast last year.

There are first GB World Cham­pi­onship callups for net­min­der Jack­son Whis­tle, de­fence­men Dal­las Erhardt and Sul­li­van, along with for­wards Ol­lie Bet­teridge, Luke Fer­rara, Liam Kirk, ex-Clan
