Rowdy teenager told to turn her life around

Sheriff warns her she could spend more time locked up

A teenage tearaway terrified staff after sparking a supermarket rammy.

Caitlin Elliot, 19, hurled insults at workers after she was confronted for acting out at Morrisons.

The yob had previously been jailed for terrorising 12-year-old girls.

Elliot admitted kicking-off in the shop when she was hauled into Paisley Sheriff Court.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew warned he could add to her prison stretch.

He said: “I could just add to your time in custody, that would be the easy option for me – maybe not for you.

“The difficult decision for the court is to consider if you can turn your life around.

“The only person who can do that is you.

“I can make all the orders you like, but if you do not obey them, you will only end up back here.”

Elliot lost the plot after she was challenged by staff at the supermarket in Thread Street.

She bawled and swore at workers during the drama last July 29.

Elliot previously appeared in court after she hounded a group of schoolgirls and was locked-up for 100 days.

She targeted the youngsters and called them “ugly wee rats” as they looked in shop windows.

She even mocked one of the children over the recent death of her mother.

Elliot chased the girls and said she would “batter” and “rip out” their hair on the High Street last November 27.

The lout was sent down for another 230 days after she thumbed her nose at social work help.

She bawled abuse as she was led to cells for dodging meetings put in place by the court.

Defence lawyer Michael McKeown blamed his client’s behaviour on booze.

He said: “She doesn’t wish to return to custody.

“She understands the strong link between her offending and alcohol consumption.

“This needs to be addressed, otherwise she is likely to come back to the attention of police.

“I would hope because she has had a reasonably substantial period in custody, she will have had time to reflect on her chaotic lifestyle.”

Elliot, of Amochrie Drive, has been ordered to return to court on July 18.
