Join the Bishop for a run
Bishop of Paisley John Keenan is urging schoolchildren and young people to get fit to help the world’s poorest people by signing up to SCIAF’S 6k Family Fun Run.
Keen runner and SCIAF board member, Bishop John, wants everyone to put their faith into action and share the journey with family, friends, colleagues, fellow parishioners and classmates by joining SCIAF’s second fun run at the scenic Strathclyde Country Park in Motherwell on June 2.
The run kicks off at 11am, but the fun starts from 10am onwards, with plenty of music, stalls and games, making it a perfect summer’s day out for the whole family whether you decide to run, jog or walk.
Bishop Keenan limbered up in his shorts to show off SCIAF’s new top quality running tops, available on the big day, and the shiny medals which will be handed out to everyone who takes part. Entrants will also get free water and a tasty biscuit treat donated by Tunnock’s to keep them fuelled up.
Bishop Keenan said: “I’d urge all the youngsters out there who’ve been stuck inside studying for their exams to get a bit of exercise and get down to Strathclyde Country Park after the exams are finished on June 2 for the SCIAF Family Fun Run.”
