It remains tight at the top of the Paisley Veterans’Bowls Outdoor League ... but Charleston still rule the roost.

The on-form Paisley side remain at the league summit following another well-earned victory, this time away to Anchor, courtesy of a 7-1 victory.

But it is all change among the chasing pack after Charleston fell to a crunching 8-0 defeat at the hands of Inchinnan.

That win moves Inchinnan into second spot, while Elderslie moved into third, following a 6-2 win over Renfrew.

Priorscrof­t enjoyed a good week, beating Ferguslie 6-2, but all that result does is keep them among the chasing pack.

Victoria clinched a crucial victory at at the bottom of the league as they saw off the threat of mid-table Hawkhead, while there were draws in the leagues over games.

Blacklandm­ill and Wellmeadow played out a 4-4 tie, while Kilbarchan and Ralston also couldn’t find a way beyond one another.

Meiklerigg­s and Albercorn were the other sides having to settle for a share of the spoils.

The sides return to action today, with a number of teams looking to turn their fortunes around.

Charleston will be hoping to stop Priorscrof­t’s recent rich vein of form as they bid to consolidat­e their position at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, Inchinnan will be be looking to build on their great win last time around when they welcome Kilbarchan.
