Nurse may be struck off after nasty boozy row

-

A thug nurse could be struckoff after threatening to kill his wife and calling her a “smelly bitch”.

Craig Stockman, 37, sparked a boozy row after returning home and hurled partner Tracey’s belongings into the garden.

He smashed a bottle of her perfume after she confronted him in their kitchen about his drunken state.

During a hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court, the bully admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner.

Prosecutor Colin Wilson told how Stockman turned on his wife after staggering in.

He said: “She was awoken from her sleep by noises coming from downstairs.

“She went down and saw the accused in an intoxicated state and could smell alcohol from him.

“He had left the front door open with the key in the outside of the lock.

“She asked the accused where he’d been and a verbal argument ensued.

“He called her ‘a smelly bitch’ and also told her he would bury her.

“The accused was standing with his hands behind his back and went right up into her face.

“He then began to throw her belongings out of the front and rear doors of the house.”

Stockman stumbled in drunk after the night out around 1.30am on April 9.

He sparked the spat after Tracey – his wife of six years – asked for an explanation at their home in Renfrew’s Murray Street. Police arrested him later in the morning after she reported him.

Stockman could be hauled in front of a Nursing and Midwifery Council disciplinary hearing.

The nurse was suspended by the NHS after his behaviour came to light.

Defence lawyer Matt Lynch revealed the pair were getting divorced.

Sheriff Kevin Duffy deferred sentence for good behaviour. Stockman has been ordered to return to the dock in September to learn his fate.
