Fair was just the job

The Tannahill Centre played host to a number of businesses looking to hire new people at a successful jobs fair.

Organisers Invest in Renfrewshi­re invited along more than 25 employers including colleges, businesses and the armed forces with lots of people going along to look for vacancies.

Invest in Renfrewshi­re’s assistant economic developmen­t manager Laura Neil said: “We welcomed the opportunit­y to work with Ferguslie Park Housing Associatio­n to deliver a range of job opportunit­ies for local people.

“More than 25 employers and training providers attended and all are keen to attend a future jobs fair.”

The Tannahill Centre is owned by Ferguslie Park Housing Associatio­n. Its interim chief executive Lynn McCulloch said: “We were pleased to welcome so many organisati­ons and potential employers to the event.

“More importantl­y we were delighted with the number of local people who came along.

“We know that some of them have already landed jobs as a result of the jobs fair which is great news.”
