A bigot hurled homophobic abuse at pub- goers then launched a racist rant in the back of a cop car.

Alan Pendreigh, 31, staggered-up to two men outside a bar and shouted : “I will f**k that f****t up.”

The yob was lifted after police were called but carried on his tirade.

He admitted acting in a threatening or abusive manner during a hearing at Paisley Sheriff Court.

Prosecutor Carol Cameron told how he targeted the revellers at Bar 42 in the town centre.

She said: “Two witnesses went outside for a cigarette.

“The accused was outside on New Street, unsteady on his feet and growling at members of the public, looking for a fight.

“He stated: ‘you like a f****t – I will f**k that f****t up’. “It was directed at the two young men. “He continued to be aggressive and growl, repeatedly shouting ‘f****t’ and ‘p**f’.

“As a result of what was seen to be escalating homophobic conduct, one went back into the bar and called police.

“When in the police car, he looked out the window and said: ‘Look at all those f*****g n*****s’.”

Pendreigh kicked- off after he was turfed out another bar nearby.

A worker turned up at Bar 42 and warned he had been thrown out their boozer.

The lout showed up outside the pub before turning on customers when they left. They were so terrified they called police when he turned nasty shortly before midnight on February 23.

Defence lawyer Nadine Dormer claimed her client had “no memory” of what happened.

She said: “He confirmed he has been a chronic alcoholic for the last 10 years.

“His partner, who was only 34, died through alcohol-related illness recently.

“He recognises his remarks were extremely offensive.”

The court heard Pendreigh had already been rapped for a public order offence.

His solicitor claimed he had sought help for his drinking.

Sheriff Colin Pettigrew warned he would face a stern punishment.

He said: “I am prepared to deal with this by monetary penalty – but it needs to be a high one.

“You have a previous conviction for similar behaviour.

“I am sorry you have the illness you have, but the way to deal with that is to take the voluntary steps you have taken.”

Pendreigh, of Netherhill Road, was fined £600.
