Mercy Bus hits the road to Renfrewshire
A mobile church is getting some speed up and heading back to Paisley.
Last year, the visit by the Mercy Bus to the town was hailed as a big success by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paisley.
Its aim was to encourage Roman Catholics of the town and beyond to reconnect with their faith.
A spokesman said:“After the overwhelming response to the Mercy Bus last year the Friends of Divine Mercy Scotland are taking the Mercy Bus back on the road.
“There will be priests hearing confessions on the top deck and there will be an opportunity chat and ask questions about your faith with the team.
“Tea, coffee and home baking will be available.”
Friends of Divine Merch say they are inspired by the belief that the instructions which Jesus gave to St. Faustina to begin a new Feast Day honouring his mercy is one of the most important events in the history of the Catholic church.
The Rt Rev John Keenan, Roman Catholic Bishop of Paisley, hailed the bus’s work last year.
He said“This is a fantastic initiative and a wonderful example of evangelisation.”
The Divine Mercy Bus, which is a converted double-decker, will be at the Cenotaph in Paisley on Saturday, August 4, from 11am to 3pm. It will also be in Houston Square, Johnstone, on Monday, July 30, also from 11am to 3pm.
