- David Campbell

A man was slashed and cut about the head when three armed thugs burst into a house and launched a violent early- morning attack.

The 34-year-old victim was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, in Paisley, after he was knifed by two men and a woman in the horror incident.

Detectives say the violent gang turned up at a property in Tannahill Road, in the Ferguslie Park area of the town, around 6.10am on Sunday morning.

They then launched a vicious assault using weapons, and left the man with serious injuries to his scalp

Police are treating the incident as a serious assault and are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage.

It is believed the attackers fled the scene in a grey vehicle, possibly a van, which officers are now keen to trace.

Detective Inspector Ross MacDonald, from Paisley CID, has appealed to Express readers for help in snaring the suspects.

“The suspects, two male and one female, attended the address and gained access.

“He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to his wounds and we are now appealing to members of the public to help trace those responsible.

“We believe the suspects may have left the scene in a grey van or SUV type vehicle and we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this vehicle either arriving or leaving the scene.”
