Skipper Frost doesn’t mince his words

Paisley skipper Ben Frost has described today’s clash against Uddingston as a “must win”.

Rugby returns to The Anchor this weekend following a fortnight away as the Buddies welcome their third-placed rivals to town.

Having narrowly missed out on promotion from the West Division 2 last season, Paisley have got off to a slow start with just one win from their opening four games.

They already have an uphill battle on their hands to get themselves back in the promotion mix – and Frost has called on his players to make up for lost time.

Frost said: “It’s simple, we have to win. We have to win for each other on the pitch, win every battle, win every tackle, win every ball.

“Th e re have been some honest and frank conversations this week between the coaching staff and players and I think we needed that.

“We have realigned our goals and training has stepped up in intensity.”

Frost is hoping another bumper crowd makes its way down to The Anchor for today’s action as the side bid to bounce back from the 43-8 defeat at the hands of league leaders Lenzie last time out.

Frost added: “We need The Anchor crowd to get behind us and push us to victory.

“I can’t emphasise how much the players enjoy playing in front of our great support and it will be great to see you all there this afternoon.”

Paisley’s second XV take on Cumbernauld RFC and will be looking to continue their unbeaten record.
