Beware of phone scams
Police Scotland have issued a warning to people all over Renfrewshire following a recent spike in vishing fraud activity, especially aimed at the elderly.
Vishing is a scam that involves making phone calls or leaving voice messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce people to reveal personal information, such as bank details or credit card numbers.
If you are concerned for yourself or your family, contact Police Scotland on 101.
You can find out more on vishing by visiting Police Scotland’s Little Book of Scams online booklet at www. scotland.police.uk.
