Dozens of Paisley firms affected by rail delays
ScotRail either cancelled or were late on one in every 44 journeys last year.
The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) revealed dozens of the firm’s services through Paisley were affected.
The operator reported problems on more than 17,000 journeys across the country.
Phil Campbell, head of customer operations at ScotRail Alliance, warned more delays are likely during colder weather.
He said:“Winter weather can be challenging for everyone, whether it’s disruption to train services or even just getting to and from the station.
“ScotRail Alliance teams across the country will be working flat out to keep customers moving over the next few months.
“This includes snow ploughs travelling the network and colleagues gritting station platforms to keep them safe.
“We’re introducing even more tools to provide real-time information, and these roadshows are just another way for everyone to keep in touch with us.”
The ORR defines a“full”cancellation as happening when a train either never starts its journey, or stops before it gets halfway.
A“partial”cancellation happens when a train stops after covering more than half its journey, or misses out one or more stops.
ScotRail planned almost 760,000 trips across Scotland last year.
These included all major passenger rail services throughout Renfrewshire. Trains service Gilmour Street, Canal Street, Hawkhead and St James’in Paisley. Routes also run to Johnstone, Milliken Park, Lochwinnoch, Howwood and Bishopton.
The firm offers a“delay repay” compensation scheme, with cash refunded for affected legs of journeys.
