Witness appeal after two injured in boozy rammy in the street

-

An indoors drinking session which spilled out to the street ended up in a violent rammy which left two men injured.

The brawl took place in the early hours of Sunday morning on Clavering Street East in Paisley.

It’s understood a group of pals had been drinking in a flat nearby and ended up on the street at around 3.30am.

The five people – four men and one woman – then got into an argument in the street which resulted in two of the men being injured.

A 20-year-old was punched and kicked and ended up losing a tooth in the fight.

Police are treating the attack as a serious assault.

And a 19-year-old received sustained bruising to his face in an attack cops are treating as assault.

The younger man made his own way to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Last night police in Paisley issued an appeal for anyone who may have seen or heard anything to get in touch and help them track down the brutes involved.

Paisley’s area commander, Chief Inspector Simon Wright, told the Paisley Daily Express: “We believe the group had been drinking in a flat together and then gone outside.

“They ended up in a punch-up and were fighting amongst themselves.

“Two of the men ended up injured. One had bruising to his face and took himself to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment. The 20- year- old lost a tooth and didn’t require medical treatment.

“Investigations are continuing to locate the suspects in this assault. We believe it would have been fairly noisy so anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the street at this time can contact Paisley police.”

If you have any information which may help police track down those responsible for the assault and serious assault, contact police on the non-emergency 101 number.
