Hagg Bar A go nine unbeaten

Division One champions stay top of the pack

-

However, they still couldn’t wrestle fourth spot from St Peter’s as they remain one leg behind them after nine games.

Cafuffals remain in sixth place after they too came through a tough home encounter against Keystone A.

After being down 4-0 they won all five remaining matches to steal the victory 5-4.

Railway Inn stay in seventh place but have now given themselves a two-point gap over Keystone A after overcoming The Clachan Bar 8-1 with a convincing home display.

In the last of the games there was a comfortable 9- 0 whitewash win for Charleston Arms over bottom-placed Hagg Bar C.

The result sees the Charleston team up one place into ninth.

In the Second Division, the New Saints lost their coveted unbeaten record as they went down to Court Bar B in a muchanticipated game which lived up to the hype as the final result ended 5-4.

The result puts the teams on the same points and only separated by one leg, although The New Saints have a game in hand over their Court Bar rivals.

Kelburne Cricket Club keep a hold on third place after giving Flying Horse a drubbing as they ran out 8-1 winners over the bottom placed outfit.

Kelburne cannot afford to complacent, however as Arthurlie Inns are only three legs behind them and on the same points after they recorded a 6-3 home win over Hazel Pirates.

They both play lower placed opposition next week but won’t be taking anything for granted as any slip-ups could be costly.

Pockets sit clear in fifth position, just two points behind Kelburne and Arthurlie, after they ran up a very impressive 8-1 scoreline against Hagg Bar B.

Sixth place is occupied by Keystone B who must have fancied their chances against the lower-placed Gryffe Inn but it doesn’t always work that way as Gryffe took both points with a 6-3 away win.

Also climbing the table as a result of a 7-2 victory over Inkerman Bowling Club are Railway Black Cats as they go up two spots into ninth.

There were a total of 10 maximums hit during the matches with George Dempsey of Hagg Bar A scoring three.

The best games of the night came in several matches as Mark Barilli of Arthurlie Arrows, Alex McAllister of Court Bar, Evander Stevenson from Hagg Bar A and Pirate Paul Malcolmson all had 14-dart legs.

Court Bar’s McAllister added another two legs of 16 darts each in a 3-2 singles win at St Peter’s.

The best finish of the week came from Railway Inn’s Garry Jardine when he finished on 126.
