Sweaters will make kids’ lives better

-

MP Gavin Newlands MP pulled on a pullover to mark his support for Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day campaign, which took place yesterday.

Now in its seventh year, Save the Children has been asking even more people across the UK to join the woolly revolution and help make the world better with a sweater.

Mr Newlands, who represents Paisley & Renfrewshire North, said: “I’m delighted to support Christmas Jumper Day. It’s a fantastic cause that does so much good, raising money and awareness for children here in the UK and around the world.

“Millions of people up and down the UK have been pulling on a Christmas jumper for a great cause – to help create a brighter future for children, and it’s great to be a part of it.”

Since its launch in 2012 the fundraising event has raised more than £ 17million for the world’s most vulnerable children. More than 5 million people across the UK were due to take part this year with schools, homes and offices ditching their day- to- day dress and donning their daftest, most wonderful woollies for the annual fundraiser.
