Charity has achieved so much for amputees

-

Finding Your Feet has helped thousands of amputees since it was launched five years ago.

Corinne set up the charity while still recovering from the shock of her illness.

She has helped raise nearly £1million for others just like her.

Cash is used to fund a range of rehab programmes and clubs for families across the country.

Sessions include swimming, skiing, climbing, gardening, crafting, pilates and fitness.

Its popular Ampu-teas mornings bringing patients together for coffee and a chat.

More than 50 clubs run every month in Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Leeds.

Experts insist these events are key to recovery.

Doctors warn isolation is a huge problem for amputees.

One in three patients do not survive the first year after their operation due to a range of issues, including a lack of social inclusion.

Challenges running this year include tackling the Edinburgh Marathon, Kiltwalk and Glasgow Men’s 10K.

Volunteers are being sought for a range of services.

Roles include office admin, sports coaching, first aid, chauffeuring, photography, mentoring, canvassing and fundraising.
