The west end’s Oran Mor is set to put on a real showcase of comedy in the coming weeks, with young up-andcoming talent supported by big, established names to have fans rolling in the aisles at the popular Byres Road venue.

On January 17, Rikki Brown, the man behind long-running topical radio show Watson’s Wind Up aims to‘put the satire back into Saltire’by poking fun at 21st Century Scotland with a humurous take on domestic affairs.

Later in the month Gillian Duffy’s The Ghosting of Rabbie Burns, described as a‘hilarious new comedy’, aims to provide a novel take on Scotland’s much-loved bard, with the ghost of Rabbie Burns, played by James Mackenzie, giving dating advice backed by alternative versions of the likes of‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’ and‘Ae Fond Kiss’. The show is set for the evening of January 29, at 8pm.

Then it’s the turn of cult Glasgow hero Limmy, who is set to entertain the crowd over six sell-out dates with his latest show Limmy: Suprisingly Down To Earth, And Very Funny. His performance will centre around the comedian’s newly-released autobiography and will feature the true stories of how this permanent tripper ended up on the telly.

And finally, as part of the international comedy festival, veteran comic Craig Hill performs his new show C’mon the Lads! on March 15 and 16, providing a night of no-holds-barred comedy.
