- GARY ARMSTRONG

A group of youngsters are eager to learn after returning to Bookbug sessions.

A series of storytelling classes has been taking place at Johnstone Library with youngsters showing a curious spirit, keen to take on even more knowledge in 2019.

Organisers of the Bookbug events have found the experience, which incorporates stories, songs, rhymes and games is invaluable for toddlers and that a love of reading gives kids a better chance at school.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Most of a child’s language comes from the adults around them.

“Enjoying books with babies and toddlers increases language skills.”

Bookbug is a nationwide program which aims to encourages kids to get interested in books with their parents and carers.
