Attack appeal

A man was left with a broken wrist after being targeted by three men in a savage street attack.

The victim, 33, required hospital treatment after he was pummelled by the gang.

He was pounced on after dark while he walked along Main Road, Elderslie.

The thugs escaped in a red car after the beating.

Detective Constable Brian Seggie is investigat­ing and says the public could hold the key to catching the attackers.

He said:“This was a vicious attack on one man by three attackers.

“He had to be treated in hospital following the incident.

“This was a main road and, although it was late, we hope the public may have seen or heard what happened.

“If you saw anything out of the ordinary in the area before, during or after the incident, please come forward.”

The man was assaulted near to the Post Office between 10pm and 10.30pm on Friday.

He was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.

Police believe the trio made off in a red car, possibly a Ford Fiesta.

They are described as wearing dark clothing and possibly had their faces covered.

Officers are scouring CCTV in a bid to track down the gang.
