was walking home from the bus when they jumped him.

“He was minding his own business. “He came home with a bleeding lip and said he had been punched from behind.

“His mental health has really suffered and he has tried to take his own life and he is self harming because of what happened.”

A week later the true extent of the attack came to light when the victim was approached in Paisley Centre and shown the footage.

His mum explained: “He sent it to me straight away and I hit the roof.

“He couldn’t remember being on the ground being kicked and stamped on like that.

“It was so hard watching my son lying helpless on the floor like that.”

She fears the savage beating could have been far worse had a police car not passed.

“I could have found my son dead at the street, they could have killed him,” she added.

One voice on the disturbing 11-second video is heard saying, “he thinks he’s a gangster”, as another youth jumps on his head.

The victim’s mum claims the police have been slow to respond since the incident, which was reported back in October, and urged them to make progress with the investigation.

She said: “I have given them the footage and the names of those involved but so far nothing has been done.

“It’s almost three months since this happened and they still haven’t done anything.

“It’s shocking, my son deserves better.”

Inspector Tracy Harkins, of Paisley community policing team, said: “We have carried out a number of enquiries in an effort to identify those responsible.

“We have worked to locate a number of individuals and two youths have now been charged.”

Two boys, aged 14 and 12, have been charged over an attack and report has been sent to the Children’s Panel.
