Clan have been dealt a double injury blow following a hectic start to the new year.

The Braehead side suffered a setback prior to last weekend’s home games against Cardiff Devils and Milton Keynes Lightning.

Canadian defenceman Tyson Wilson is set to be out of action for two to three weeks after picking up an upper body injury in Belfast.

Following last weekend’s tough games against Dundee and Coventry, Czech defenceman Michal also sustained an injury, which is being assessed daily by the club’s medical team.

Head coach Pete Russell said: “After a very hectic festive period we have a few guys carrying knocks. Every team goes through it but we are starting to have a few guys out and playing through pain.

“The main one right now is Tyson Wilson who will be missing for a couple of weeks with an upper body injury. He is a big loss on the back end.

“Our medical team are working daily around the clock with other players to keep them on the ice and performing to their highest possible level.

“While it’s a setback, we have a hardworking group of guys here that want to win for the club. We’ll approach the weekend fully focused on building on our recent good form.”
