It’s a real family affair now for Greg

-

Greg Tansey may be happy to have signed for St Mirren – but he insists his family are even more delighted.

The former Inverness CT midfielder penned an 18-month contract with the Saints last week following his release from Aberdeen.

He became the club’s first signing of the window, prior to the capture of Mihai Popescu later in the week.

The Liverpudlian revealed that his nearest and dearest can’t wait to come see him in the black and white stripes.

Tansey said:“My family and friends will be a lot happier I’ll be playing in Paisley because it is a lot closer to home.

“It is half the distance than it was between Aberdeen and Liverpool so they will have more chances to come and watch.”

Tansey has been in full training since arriving at the club, and he insists his injury woes are behind him.

He added:“Aberdeen got me fit and treated me well and I have no animosity with them.

“I have been training with them for five weeks and played three 90 minutes with the reserves and feeling good.

“I just need a platform now and I feel privelidged that St Mirren have given me that.” .”chance.”
