Talented Nicola is made up at award nod
A talented mum is celebrating after being nominated for Makeup Artist of the Year.
Nicola Keegan, from Paisley, is one of 10 finalists competing for the prestigious Scottish Beauty Industry Awards prize.
Tie the Knot Scotland magazine recently included Nicola’s artistry in its beauty expert feature alongside her Thomas Coats Memorial church bridal photoshoot .
Nicola organised the shoot to show support for the building as a future wedding venue.
Last year, the Express also revealed that Nicola’s work had been published in international art book, Strìõsherra Fables.
And, with her latest accomplishments, Nicola - who is counting down to her own wedding in October, at Glenskirlie Castle – shared her delight, saying:“All at once, my dreams are coming true.”
In addition to being a mum to three-yearold James, Nicola works as a freelance makeup artist with her two female assistants and said supporting other women is one of the driving forces behind her work.
She said:“I come from very humble beginnings and want nothing but the best for my boy.
“He is my motivation but having young female assistants really encourages me to be the best I can be at all times.
“I would have loved having a mentor in the industry.
“I’m so proud to be passing on my trade. “Teaching makeup is a huge passion of mine and helping other females gain experience and find their calling is just so satisfying.”
