Lucky shoppers have struck gold

- ALISON RENNIE

As well as offering a fun day out this summer, Paisley’s Bricks in Space event is also rewarding shoppers.

Organised by Paisley First — the group tasked with boosting business in the town centre — Bricks in Space celebrates the 50th anniversary of the moon landings with a series of Lego sculptures dotted around Paisley.

Youngsters can pick up a space passport to mark off each of the sculptures they spot.

When they’re done, they can post them into one of the golden postboxes in The Piazza or Paisley Centre to be in with a chance of winning a goodie bag.

That’s exactly what Katie Ross and Adam Olslewski did to win their prize.

Running alongside the Bricks in Space competition is a Golden Ticket competition with a weekly draw giving visitors the chance to win £250 of Paisley town centre gift vouchers.

Customers will be given a golden ticket with their receipt in participating outlets.

To be in with a chance of winning, they need to fill in a ticket with their contact details and post into the golden postbox.

The first two drawn out were Natalie Noga and Dennis Duffy, who have been given the vouchers to spend as they please in participating shops.

Winners for both the Bricks in Space competition and Golden Ticket will be drawn each week of the summer holidays.

Paisley First chair Colette Cardosi said: “We are sure families will come from far and wide to enjoy this great, free day out during the school holidays.

“After enjoying our out of this world entertainment, visitors can take advantage of our many shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.

“There is so much to see and do in the town already and this will help cement the town’s reputation as a visitor destination.”

Bricks in Space and the Golden Ticket competition both run until Tuesday, August 13.
