Gran’s hidden talent is keeping kids busy
“I’ve got a few bags at home. I go through them and select the best.
“I try to think of themes for the rocks.
“I’ve got Toy Story ones coming out soon and I’m already thinking about Hallowe’en — I’ve got lots of ideas for that.
“It’s nice to see children on Facebook collecting them.
“I’m just delighted to see their wee faces when they find one.
“It’s not just for kids though, it’s nice for adults to collect them as well.
“I put them around Renfrew town centre when children were at school.
“Hopefully, an adult found one and enjoyed it as well.”
But the 47- year- old admits it can be tricky when she goes out to hide the rocks.
She explained: “I was caught putting the stones out in Knockhill Park a few weeks ago — some children were following me!
“I gave them into the centre instead and they put them out.
“I try to be discreet when I put them out and make sure nobody sees me.
“Some people do know who I am, but I prefer to be anonymous. I think it’s nice to have some mystery.”
The mum- of- two is a full time carer for her son and said painting and varnishing the rocks helps focus her.
She does a couple a day and plans to keep going as long as people enjoy finding them.
She laughed: “It’s costing me a fortune in paint.
“I’ve not got any plans to stop. The only reason I would stop is if folk didn’t want me to do it.”
