Residents can have their say on polling places
People in Barrhead and Neilston are being asked for their views as part of a council review of polling districts and places in East Renfrewshire.
The local authority wants to hear from residents about a new draft polling scheme.
The aim of the consultation is to ensure that voters have reasonable facilities for voting and that all polling places are accessible for everyone in the community.
Every local authority must review its polling districts and polling places every five years to ensure voting arrangements remain workable and up-todate, with a public consultation forming part of the review.
People can have their say by writing to: Eamonn Daly, Democratic Services Manager, Election Office, Eastwood Park, Rouken Glen Road, Giffnock, G46 6UG, no later than Friday, August 23.
Further information and a copy of the new draft polling scheme can be found at www. eastrenfrewshire.gov.uk/ pollingscheme
After the deadline, a report containing the final proposals for polling districts and polling places will be submitted for consideration at a meeting of the council in September, the local authority says.
