- HOLY TRINITY & ST BARNABAS’ CHURCH

A warm welcome to Holy Trinity & St Barnabas’ Church, opposite the sheriff court and across from Gilmour Street rail station in Paisley.

We are a member of the Scottish Episcopal Church and a part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

Tomorrow, our Sung Eucharist at 10am marks the eighth Sunday of Pentecost.

Pentecost is when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks.

This is described in the New Testament book, Acts of the Apostles and the event represents the birth of the early church.

All people are welcome to worship with us and, if you are baptised in any denomination, you are most welcome to take Communion with us as well.

We invite you to join us after our services at our coffee time and enjoy a hot drink and a sausage roll or a biscuit or two!

On Wednesday, our Eucharist at 10.30am celebrates the Transfiguration. This is an event described in the New Testament.

Jesus and three of his apostles go to a mountain to pray. On the mountain, Jesus begins to shine with bright rays of light. Then the prophets Moses and Elijah appear and the voice of God refers to Jesus as ‘Son’.

On Wednesday and Friday evenings, every week of the year at 7pm, the St Vincent de Paul Society Ozanam Centre provides free hot meals, to all who show up, in our church hall. No registration or pre-booking is required.

On Thursdays, from 9am till 1.30pm, the Street Connect/Cornerstone Paisley drop-in centre is open in our church hall.

All are welcome to come in, have a warm drink and, at lunch hour, filled rolls are also available.

Check our website www. episcopalpaisley.org.uk or Facebook page www.facebook.com/ HTSBPaisley or the window at the main entrance of the church for the full list of worship services. 11am.

After the service, why not join in continued fellowship over a cup of tea or coffee in the large hall? All are welcome.

On Tuesday, at 2pm, the Friendly Hour will be open for a summer get-together.

This will take place in the large hall and all are welcome.

On Friday, from 7pm to 8pm, and on Saturday, from 9.30am to 11.30pm, our hall will be open for anyone entering exhibits in our Green Fingers and Wooden Spoon Afternoon.

These will include baking, flowers, plants, crafts, photography and children’s exhibits.

There will also be a tearoom from 1pm to 2.30pm, with a prizegiving at 2.30pm.
