Get along for some free energy advice
Home Energy Scotland has teamed up with Paisley’s mental health support organisation RAMH to host a free energy advice event in the town.
This will be a chance to meet expert advisors who will be on hand with free, impartial advice and information to help householders save energy, lower their fuel bills and keep warm and well at home ahead of the return of the colder months.
Organisers say the event is tailored to help whether you own or rent your home, and no matter your personal circumstances.
Support ranges from simple energy saving tips that make a difference to information about funding and grants available for new boilers, insulation and heating systems to help make your home more efficient.
Advisors can see if people are eligible for discounts from energy suppliers, and advise on shopping around for a cheaper energy supply.
The Home Energy Scotland team will also be advising on greener ways to travel which not only reduce travel costs, but contribute to the 150 minutes of moderate exercise a week recommended by the NHS.
Stephen McLellan, chief executive of RAMH, said it recognised the impact of cold, damp homes and worry about bills on people’s health and wellbeing.
He said: “The team provides free, impartial advice and is there to help people, whatever their personal circumstances, make informed decisions and afford to keep warm at home.”
The event is on Friday, August 23, from 10am to 2pm, at the Charleston Centre, 49 Neilston Road, Paisley.
