Paisley Pirates have swooped to sign Kirkcaldy brothers Jay and Conor Duncan for the 2019/20 season.

Conor has spent all his career with the hugely- successful Kestrels junior system and has played the last seven seasons with the Scottish National League (SNL) side.

He amassed 149 goals and 255 points in 122 games, including last season when the forward collected 34 points in 13 games and was the top goalscorer in the league.

He says he has moved to the Renfrewshire side to win trophies.

“I am excited to be moving to the Pirates this season,” Conor told the club’s website.

“After speaking with Ian ( Turley) and Adam ( Walker) I feel this is the best place for me to be successful and I am ready to help the club build on their long history of success running all the way up to last season.

“The club is professional in everything they do and I can’t wait to get going.”

Jay has also spent all his career in Kirkcaldy with his hometown club.

He too has played the last seven seasons with the SNL side and amassed 37 points in 67 games. Last season he collected six points in ten games in a more limited role.

“I am delighted to be joining Paisley this season,” he said.

“I have always admired the way the club plays and I feel my style will complement that. From playing against them numerous times already, we knew going in that it was always going to be a tough battle and I am now looking forward to being on the other side of that.

“After speaking with Ian and Adam and meeting a few of my new teammates, I feel I will fit in fine and can’t wait to get the season started.”

Pirates coach Adam Walker is delighted to capture the brothers.

”Conor came to us looking for a new challenge and we are delighted to have him on board,” he said.

“He has been consistently there in the points year on year and that is something that will only benefit us. Not only does he put the puck in the net, he works hard to get his rewards. He will fit in well with our ethos.

” Jay is another player who will fit in perfectly with our style of play. He is extremely hardworking and will do what it takes to win. He may have had a more limited role last year in Kirkcaldy, but he will get a chance to play and we hope to improve him here in Paisley.

“Ian and I feel he will be a good addition to our squad.”
