Brexit hits new levels of bizarre
This last week will go down as one of the worst weeks in UK political history.
Gone was the bumbling buffoon persona of prime minister Boris Johnson, to be replaced with a tyrant hell- bent on delivering an extreme Tory Brexit with or without a deal.
Boris was left with egg on his face though as he lost vote after vote in the Commons.
His own Tory MPs where dropping like flies as even they could not back the prime minister’s diabolical plans.
Boris Johnson said he didn’t want a general election.
However, we all know this is just another Tory lie and he will do anything that he can to deliver Brexit.
The hardline Brexiteers’ masks are beginning to slip and the obsession of delivering Brexit has hit new levels of bizarre.
They do not care about the consequences for their constituents.
Leading experts have been telling us for months that the no-deal path the UK Government are currently going down is dangerous for Scottish jobs, public services, medicine and food supplies.
A general election in Scotland will be completely different to the one they will be battling in England.
While Boris wants this election to be about English nationalism and delivering Brexit, us here in Scotland will be delivering our own message.
Paisley and Renfrewshire South did not vote for Brexit and it is time we let Westminster know this.
When this election is inevitably called a vote for the SNP is a vote to tell Boris and his Brexiteer chums that we are having absolutely none of it.
Scotland deserves better than what is being currently offered by Westminster.
A decade of Tory austerity, robbing our pensioners and treating Scotland with utter contempt will be reflected at the polls.
The UK that people voted to stay part of in 2014 does not exist anymore.
Boris may have shut down parliament, but this doesn’t stop me being your MP.
During this period of undemocratic prorogation, I will venture to visit as many of you as possible around Paisley and Renfrewshire South, my surgeries will still be taking place and my office will be open if you have any issues that you need assistance with.
I will also continue to meet with charities, businesses and organisations around Renfrewshire to make sure that when parliament returns in October, I am taking your issues and concerns to the UK Government.

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting with Kate Cooper, Gayle Brannigan and representatives from St Mirren Women’s Football Club.
It was good to hear about their plans for the future.
I am looking forward to working with the club to help them achieve their goals of raising awareness of healthy living and getting more young people and women involved in football.
I also had the opportunity last week to go along and speak with the Renfrewshire Visually Impaired Forum.
This is a smashing group for all visuallyimpaired people in the Renfrewshire areas to meet up.
The group meets regularly on the first Monday of the month in the YMCA in Paisley.
