Town feels creative
Singers, artists, writers and musicians will be getting together tonight to share their expertise.
The third Creative Renfrewshire event is due to take place in the Bungalow Bar in Paisley.
Creative Renfrewshire is a network of like-minded people from across the district who get together to share ideas, support each other and celebrate creativity.
Brendan Moon has been appointed as the new engagement officer. The Erskine man has a distinguished pedigree in the entertainment industry as the one who discovered Paolo Nutini at the famous Paisley Town Hall gig.
He spent 11 years as the Paisley singer’s manager and also ran the radio department at Universal Music for 10 years.
He relocated from London to Hillington four years ago and set up Morsecode Management and Studios.
Brendan said:“I think it’s really important to have something like this. Artists sometimes don’t have a voice and it’s my job to try and help them get that.
“If you’re a musician working in your bedroom or a playwright or author, it can be hard to get going. It can be stressful working alone.
“Creative Renfrewshire is here to give people a start from other people who are maybe more established.
“We want to encourage people to do more with their creativity.
“There’s a lot of creativity out there in places like Lochwinnoch and Kilbarchan and there’s a lot going on in Paisley at the museum and town hall.”
Tonight’s event will feature live music performances and presentations from the Renfrewshire arts community.
There will also be an announcement on holding similar events across the district.
Doors are at 6.30pm, the event starts at 7pm and is completely free.
