Trial is due for Paisley ban teen
The trial of a teenager banned from entering Paisley amid claims he assaulted his girlfriend at a flat in the town is due to begin next month.
Tyler Joe Mill, of Edinburgh, is alleged to have set upon Stacey McEchran at a flat in Stirrat Street, in Paisley, on July 14.
Prosecutors claim Mill, 18, grabbed her by the arms, pushed her against a wall, grabbed her by the hair and slapped her on the head.
He is also said to have kicked her on the body and pushed her to the floor - before preventing her from getting up.
Mill is also accused of stealing her iPhone 10s, from the same flat, on November 12 this year.
Mill pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared from custody at Paisley Sheriff Court.
Procurator Fiscal Depute John Penman said:“There is no opposition to bail, however, the Crown are seeking two conditions in addition to the standard conditions of bail.
“These are that Tyler Joe Mill does not approach or contact, or attempt to approach or contact or communicate in any way whatsoever with Stacey McEachran, and that he is not to enter Paisley.”
Defence Solicitor Advocate Bob Kerr, representing Mill, said: “This is a relationship that seems to go back and forwards.
“He tells me she will probably want to continue with their relationship at some time in the future.
“He has confirmed to me he has no other connection with
Paisley.
“He has referred to property that is within her premises, but I have explained to him that will have to be arranged through a third party.
“He is only 18 years old and I have explained to him that the bail condition relates to all forms of social media.
“He has no other formal ties to Paisley.”
Sheriff Gerrard Macmillan then ruled it was appropriate to ban Mill from entering Paisley, released him on bail.
At a hearing yesterday, Sheriff Seith Ireland continued the case to trial, which is due to begin next month.
