Thug who kicked his mum in the face in house siege is jailed

- EXPRESS REPORTER

A lout who battered his mum so severely he left his footprint on her face has been caged by a sheriff.

Jordan Jackson, 25, was locked up for 18 months yesterday after brutalising Elizabeth Jackson during an armed siege at the house they shared in Paisley.

Jackson armed himself with a knife and threatened he would kill her before raining kicks on her face.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard the bully was brought through from HMP Saughton, Edinburgh, yesterday to face the rap after pleading guilty to a charge of assaulting her to injury and to making threats.

Procurator Fiscal Depute Henna Chaudry told the court Jackson had been living with his aunt, but had moved in with his mum and her partner, John Clark, when that relationship broke down.

On the evening of June 27 this year he kicked off because he believed there was no food in the house and he tried to force his way into his mum’s bedroom.

The prosecutor explained: “At this point Elizabeth Jackson and John Clark heard the accused say, ‘ I’m gonna f****** kill you’ and ‘someone’s getting stabbed and murdered tonight, I’m coming for you’.

“This appeared to be directed towards John Clark at that time.

“Jordan Jackson could be heard downstairs, entering the kitchen and searching for a knife, before returning to the bedroom door of Elizabeth Jackson.”

Wielding a bread knife he went back to the bedroom door where he damaged it.

He also smashed his way into the room by breaking the door down.

His sister Shannon fled to a neighbour’s house to raise the alarm with police.

The court heard when police attended Jackson came to the door warning them: “I’m gonna stab f*** out of you.”

He then assaulted his mum by repeatedly kicking her on the face, leaving her bruised and swollen, with a footprint on her skin which could be seen in photographs shown to Sheriff Tom McCartney.

Sentencing had been deferred for background reports to be prepared when he returned to the dock yesterday to learn his fate.

Defence solicitor Judith Hutchison said he suffered from mental health problems, adding: “These mental health issues are exacerbated by continued drug abuse through his teenage years and in to adulthood.

“The foundation of these mental health issues stemmed, in the main, from the length of, and scope of, physical abuse at the hands of others.

“It’s often asked what would happen to a child whom this happens to - what happens is he appears before this court.”

Sheriff McCartney jailed Jackson for 18 months and handed a Supervised Release Order, lasting nine months, “in order to protect the public from serious harm.”

Previously, he was outed as a love rat who had cheated on his pregnant girlfriend.

At the time, he was caged for nine months for grabbing the woman by the throat in a row.

He also shouted, swore and lashed out at her.
