Hillside View praised by care watchdog
A Paisley care home has been given a positive report by the industry watchdog.
The Care Inspectorate rated Hillside View, in Nethercraigs Road, as ‘ very good’ in the way they support residents’ wellbeing and ‘good’ at planning support.
Inspectors also found people living in the home are treated with warmth, dignity and respect.
They commented on how the home, which is run by HCOne, encourages and considers feedback from both residents and relatives.
Alison McPherson, Hillside View manager, said: “I am so proud of our whole team – their hard work and dedication has resulted in such a wonderful report.”
HC-One area director, Tracy McDonald, added: “This is amazing news.
“I would like to congratulate the team for achieving such an impressive outcome from their inspection.”
The inspectorate found some room for improvement, however.
The report states: “We could see that people were fully involved in the review of their care plan, people were in control of their care needs and family were involved where people lacked capacity.
“Reviews took place on a regular basis. However, the paperwork was not outcomes focused, it was task orientated.
“We suggested the paperwork could be adapted and improved so that it captures people’s goals and progress. The organisation also recognised this and there are future plans to adapt this paperwork.
“We found robust medication recording systems with, as required, protocols in place that are reviewed every three months and covert pathways paperwork in place.”
The report goes on: “We found that, as required, medication was being correctly recorded, as to why this was being administered, however. the result of administering this medication was not always being recorded.
“This would assist staff in establishing if the medication was effective for the person or if it required to be reviewed.”
