Charity’s urgent plea to fill vacant job roles
Quarriers needs staff and volunteers for care service
A recruitment drive has been launched by a Renfrewshire charity following the lockdown, with a range of full and part-time positions available.
Bride-of-Weir-based Quarriers needs staff and volunteers who can provide vital services.
It says the need for people to fill the vacant roles immediately has increased as the coronavirus outbreak continues to cause challenging circumstances for both existing Quarriers staff and volunteers, and those they support.
Full- time jobs through to just a few hours per week are available for positions such as support workers.
The organisation is also looking for volunteers to help with shopping, cooking and cleaning.
Quarriers is currently offering shortterm contracts from one to three months or relief work, which may be welcomed by many during this difficult time.
This is with a view to positions being made permanent once the pandemic is over.
Alice Harper, chief executive officer of Quarriers, said: “We know this is a very difficult and challenging time and that many people in a range of sectors, including retail, hospitality and leisure have been impacted.
“We have a range of vacancies across Scotland, with a mix of full-time, part-time and short-term contracts on offer.
“A number of the available positions offer an immediate start, and we would urge anyone who feels suited to the roles to get in touch.
“The top priority for Quarriers is to ensure we maintain the highest levels of service for those that we care for and our staff are of vital importance in delivering this essential care.
“We hope this recruitment drive provides a positive opportunity for both those we support and those who may be affected in the current climate.”
