COPS LAUNCH PROBE AS FAMILY PAY TRIBUTE
Murder squad detectives are probing the death of a 26-yearold man who was found in the street.
John Winters died in Johnstone High Street after a disturbance on Wednesday night, police revealed.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene at around 8.30pm but were unable to save his life.
A major investigation is now underway and a 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Cops yesterday sealed off large sections of the street as specialist forensic teams scoured the area for clues.
Officers are expected to be at the scene for several days collecting evidence
and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Grief-stricken friends and family paid emotional online tributes following his tragic death.
His devastated sister Lisa-Marie Winters wrote: “I love you so much, Johnny bhoy, and always will, absolutely heart broken still can’t believe it .
“Love you always wee man fly high, RIP, gone but not forgotten.”
His devastated partner Natasha Cameron also took to social media to pay her respects.
She added: “Love you always Johnny Winters, I’ll do you proud for our baby. Fly high my boy, love you always. We loved this boy to infinity. Words cant explain what we feel right now need a few days to fathom what has happened.”
A Police S cotland spokesman confirmed a teenager had been arrested following a disturbance in Johnstone High Street and investigation is underway.
He said: “Around 8.30pm on Wednesday, April 1, police received a report of a disturbance in High Street, Johnstone.
“Emergency services attended and a 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries are ongoing. High Street remains closed as officers continue to conduct enquiries.
