Council values get 10/10 from Paolo
Singer’s hit song played on video promoting campaign
Paisley singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini has provided the soundtrack to a video promoting a new drive by council bosses.
More than 4,000 individuals contributed to the development of four core values being adopted by Renfrewshire Council.
Paolo’s instrumental track from his 10/10 hit is the jaunty accompaniment to the video made by staff.
The value statements have the headlines “fair”, “helpful”, “collaborators” and “learning” and follow a consultation with staff, members of the public, community groups, young people and elected members last year.
Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson said: “The response to both the staff and community campaigns was brilliant and I really want to thank everyone who took part for their contribution to the values and for illustrating how we can live them.
“Over the past few months, as we have responded to the outbreak of coronavirus, there have been many examples of our staff already living these values and it has been inspiring to see how our staff and communities have pulled together to work together and support and look after one another.
“These four values support the kind of organisation we want Renfrewshire Council to be and we want everyone to be able to see these reflected in how we deliver services and make decisions every day.
“It’s clear now, more than ever, that kindness really does count.”
The council’s values aim to make it fair in the way people are treated, with bosses working hard to build trust in Renfrewshire Council; it says it cares about getting things right and will always be approachable; it aims to be a “great collaborator”, working as one team and with people who care about Renfrewshire and says it values learning to help innovate, improve and deliver better services.
The four values have been formally adopted by the council and will shape how the organisation communicates and works with communities and partners in the future.
