GANG’S BRUTAL ATTACK ON BOY, 15

HUNT FOR THREE THUGS WHO KICKED AND PUNCHED TEEN

- DAVID CAMPBELL

A 15- year- old boy needed his forehead stitched after three feral youths battered him in an unprovoked attack in Paisley.

Detectives probing the violent beating said the young victim was minding his own business when the trio targeted him in a wooded area near Strathcarron Crescent.

The terrified teen was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in the town following the onslaught and now cops are hunting those responsible.

It is understood the group engaged the victim in conversation before launching their mindless attack around 5.20pm.

He was left bloodied and bruised after he was kicked and punched on the head and body.

Police have now released descriptions of the three suspects involved.

The first is described as a white male, aged around 16 years old, around 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a black top, black bottoms and Nike trainers.

Cops said the second suspect is also described as a white male, aged 16 or 17 years old, around 5ft 7ins tall, wearing a black top and light blue bottoms and black Nike trainers.

The third attacker is said to be a white male, around 14 years old and wearing a black Lacoste top.

Detective Inspector Ian Ross, from Paisley CID, is leading the investigation.

He said: “This appears to have been an unprovoked assault on a boy, who received a nasty wound to his head, which required hospital treatment.

“Our enquires are at an early stage. However, we know the three suspects approached the victim and engaged him in conversation before they assaulted him by kicking and punching him repeatedly.

“I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the attack, or indeed observed three males matching the descriptions in the vicinity of the Strathcarron Crescent area of Paisley around the time it happened, to come forward.

“We are checking CCTV footage and carrying out door- to- door enquires in the area.

“Please get in touch if you have any information which could be useful to our investigation.”
