Man denies striking child
A man faces trial in Paisley amid allegations he assaulted a five-year-old boy.
Paul Stafford, 26, is accused of attacking the child at a house in the town’s Alice Street on November 29 last year.
Stafford, of Cairngorm Crescent, Glenburn, pleaded not guilty to the charge when he made a brief appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court earlier this week.
Prosecutors allege he assaulted the child by striking him on the head to his injury.
He was released on bail with special conditions that he doesn’t approach or contact the youngster.
He is also required not to contact the youngster’s mother or enter Alice Street.
He is expected to appear for trial on November 22, with a pre-trial hearing set down for October 26.
