An online fundraising drive has been started for the heartbroken family of Paisley dad-of-four David Letham.

The 35-year-old’s body was found in woods near Bridge of Weir on Tuesday after a major search was launched when he was reported missing.

David had recently become a father for the fourth time after his daughter was born earlier this month.

He is survived by partner Caroline, son David, twin daughters Lucy and Leah and newborn Sienna.

Now devastated family and friends are hoping to raise as much money as possible to support his wife and children.

Jade Gilchrist started a Gofundme page, describing David as the “life and soul of the party” and has asked people to help with donations at this difficult time.

She wrote: “I have set this cause up to help David Letham’s family.

“David was the life and soul of the party. “You would always see David with the biggest smile on his face, and he would always chat away no matter what.

“David has a loving family, his partner Caroline, son David, twins Lucy and Leah and a newborn Sienna.

“He loved his family, and family meant everything to David.

“Also his mum, brothers and sister and extended family are all heartbroken at the news.

“In these sad times, I’m looking to raise money for his family.

“Any amount is gratefully appreciated.”

One donator wrote: “Honestly can’t believe you’re now a wee angel in the sky, gonni miss seeing your happy wee face, thinking of your lovely wee family at this sad, horrible time. Rest easy wee guy.”

A search operation was launched after David was reported missing from the Foxbar area in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Emergency crews raced to Hattrick Farm, Bridge of Weir, after reports that a car was submerged in water.

Sadly, David’s body was discovered in a wooded area nearby.

Police confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances in relation to his death and his family have been notified.
