Police appeal for help as they hunt attacker
A man who was slashed across the face in a horror assault in Paisley has been released from hospital as cops continue their hunt for his attacker.
Police revealed the 52 year old - who may be scarred for life following the terrifying incident - has now been discharged from the Royal Alexandra Hospital after doctors treated a laceration on his face.
He was rushed to the Paisley hospital on Tuesday night after he was targeted by a knifeman in Dalskeith Road, Ferguslie.
He received several stitches to a gaping facial injury, police revealed at the time.
They have launched a probe into the incident which has been branded as “despicable” by those investigating.
Officers are appealing for information from the public to help them with their enquiries.
Detective Constable Paul Fanning, of Renfrewshire CID, is urging anyone who may have been in the area on Tuesday evening to come forward.
He said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the Dalskeith Road area between 6.30pm and 7.30pm who may have seen a disturbance at the address or who has any information about the attack to come forward.
“This was a despicable attack on an innocent member of the public and we are determined to identify the person responsible.
“We would also urge drivers who may have been in area at the time of the attack to check dashcam footage to see if they captured anything that might be useful to our investigation.
“Similarly, if you have private CCTV in the area, please get in touch.”
