Hunt as vandals smash up car with plant pots

Mindless vandals used a plant pot to smash the windows of a car parked on a Paisley street.

Residents in Fairway Avenue, Glenburn, alerted police after hearing loud smashing noises coming from outside their home around 1am on Friday.

Once police arrived, it was discovered louts had trashed a Nissan Micra parked on the street, using a nearby plant pot.

Three of the car’s windows had been smashed in the late- night incident, while the owner was asleep in their home.

The cost of the damage is not yet known, but officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone near Fairway Avenue shortly before of after 1am to get in touch.

A Po l i c e S c o t l a n d spokesman said: “We would ask that anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the early hours of Friday morning on Fairway Avenue to please get in touch as we are keen to trace those responsibl­e for this senseless vandalism.”
