Music event raised notes for hospices
Members of Renfrew Rotary Club handed over a bumper cheque to two well-known Paisley organisations following a successful music night.
The club raised more than £600 following their online music event which was held in December last year, bringing together a selection of talented musicians to perform on Zoom all for a good cause.
Members enjoyed performances from four talented artists which included Adam Louttit who played highland bagpipes, pianist David Stevenson, singer and guitarist Sasha Kaloheris and accordion Iain Prentice.
The cash raised on the night was split between St Vincent’s and Accord Hospices, which both provide palliative care.
Renfrew Rotary Club president Gordon Drummond went along this week to present the donations to the charities.
The club hosted another successful music night yesterday to help bring in cash for another good cause.
The club were joined by another group of four musicians for an evening of entertainment, with all donations being given to veteran charity Erskine’s minibus fund.
The charity needs to raise £55,000 so that its veterans have access to the specialist minibus, which would pave the way for around several trips a year.
