Fun is aim of the game

Youngsters learn new skills

- CARLA TALBOT

Youngsters made the most of the sunshine as they enjoyed a multi-sports camp.

The group of kids went along to take part in the last day of the Get Active coaching Easter holiday camps that were held at Paisley Rugby Club. Around 30 children signed up to take part in the week-long sport camps, which included fun activities featuring a variety of different sports each day.

Wee ones aged four to ten enjoyed sports such as rugby, football, archery, American football and lacrosse, with coaches giving them a taster of each sport.

They returned to the club for the final day and got to enjoy all of the activities they took part in throughout the week.

This is the second year of the successful sport camps, who are run by Active Coaching founder Martin McKellar - with the first round of the camps being held in October last year.

Martin, who set up Active Coaching a year ago, was delighted with the response from children and their parents. He said:“It has been fantastic and having the nice weather has really made it great. The kids have really enjoyed it. We wanted to give them a chance to try out lots of different sports, including ones they might never have tried such as lacrosse and archery. The last day gave them the chance to try their favourite sports from throughout the week again. The response has s been great and we were surprised to have so many ny signed up.”
