Cyclist seriously hurt in collision
A cyclist is in intensive care after he swerved to avoid a turning car.
The 50-year-old suffered a serious neck injury after he collided with a parked motor in Greenock Road, Bishopton, on Tuesday evening.
Emergency crews raced to the scene at around 5.30pm to reports of a road accident.
The biker was rushed to hospital.
It is understood the biker remains in a serious condition.
It is understood a car attempted to turn, causing the cyclist to take evasive action to avoid being hit, forcing him to hit a parked car.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman has urged witnesses to come forward.
She said: “A 50- year- old cyclist suffered serious injuries after he was involved in a collision in Greenock Road, Bishopton, at around 5.30pm on Tuesday.
“If you witnessed this incident then we would urge you to come forward.
“Similarly, if you were driving in the area, please check dashcam footage to see if you captured anything which may be useful to our investigation.”
